Asbestos Surveys

Management Surveys

Refurbishment & Demo Surveys

Annual Re-inspections

An asbestos survey of your residential or commercial property will identify materials that contain or are presumed to contain asbestos containing materials (ACMs). A management survey is the first step to ensuring compliance with the ‘Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012’ and will help to prevent exposure to harmful asbestos fibres, enabling day-to-day maintenance of a property to be carried out safely.

One of our experienced asbestos surveyors will inspect your property, taking samples of suspect materials. These will then be sent off to a UKAS accredited laboratory for analysis.

Our final report will be supplied as a PDF, all backed up with a comprehensive photo schedule and site location/reference plans, alongside a detailed Asbestos Register.

We’ll also be able to advise on any remedial works and can manage the removal, encapsulation & on-going management of asbestos. This can include bi-annual re-inspections and applying asbestos warning labels to ACMs.

There are two main types of asbestos surveys we can provide.
Here’s a breakdown below:

Asbestos management survey
An entry-level report which will identify, quantify and provide a risk assessment on any asbestos containing materials at a superficial level within a property. For example, this might be in the walls, floors and ceilings. This report meets minimum legal requirements for you as a duty holder. A duty holder is defined as either the managing agent, landlord or the director of the business in occupation.

The purpose of the report is to begin the process of asbestos management in a property and enable the business owner, landlord or tenant to correctly manage any ACMs identified. The report will also recommend if any remedial works are required to make the material safe, this may involve encapsulation or possibly removal of the ACM.

Asbestos refurbishment survey
An intrusive survey into the building fabric, undertaken in an informed and targeted fashion, the scope of which can be pre-agreed with you before the survey commences. It aims to both identify and quantify Asbestos Containing Materials within the property, providing a basis for removal of all ACMs prior to refurbishment of the building. The report ensures that all asbestos is identified for removal as far as reasonably practicable.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has further information on their website regarding asbestos. Their FAQ sheet helps identify your responsibilities with regards to asbestos identification, and removal.
