Survey Hub were commissioned to undertake a watercourse survey on 5km of waterways at a new development site in Linmere, Daventry.

The watercourses were running through open fields, however, were densely vegetated, meaning our surveyors had to carry out some clearance works to allow for observations to be taken at the required intervals.

The specification was to survey the watercourses in their entirety and also to provide sections every 50m to allow the modelling teams to understand how the water ways flowed and if there were any issues at structural features along the course.

Individual cross sections showing banks, water level, silt level and bed level were recorded along with elevational information of any structures present along the water courses. 100 detailed sections were observed on site using total stations utilising two man teams to ensure H&S procedures were adhered to at all times.

2D & 3D .dwg files were produced to show the watercourses in topographic form along with .csv & .dat files to enable the findings to be transferred into flood modelling software.
