High-Accuracy Measured Survey & Floorplans at Stockwell Farm

Client

Agricultural / Landowner

Budget

£20,000

Survey Hub was appointed to produce accurate floorplans and detailed site layouts to support future planning and development at Stockwell Farm. Due to the rural setting and lack of surrounding reference features, establishing reliable positional control across the site was a key requirement.

  • Measured building survey for floorplans
  • Detailed site layout survey
  • High-accuracy laser scanning
  • Survey control establishment across the wider site

Unlike urban environments, the open landscape surrounding the farm provided very few fixed reference points for positioning and control. This meant standard scanning workflows alone would not achieve the required accuracy over the full site extent.

To overcome this, our team deployed both the Leica P20 and RTC360 laser scanners to capture high-resolution spatial data. We established a large external traverse network around the farm, creating stable control points that anchored the scan data and ensured positional integrity across the entire project area.

By combining precision instrumentation with a carefully planned control strategy, we were able to maintain consistency between internal and external datasets while achieving the accuracy standards required for design use. We produced accurate floorplans, detailed site layout drawings, fully co-ordinated scan data and reliable survey control framework.

The client received a highly reliable and accurate set of plans that will support confident decision-making for future development. This survey gave them benefits included such as: strong positional accuracy across a large rural site, reduced risk for future design stages, comprehensive spatial understanding of existing structures and long-term value for planning and redevelopment.
