At Holme Quarry, we conducted a detailed topographical survey using the Leica TS16 total station and Trimble GPS.

Quarries require accurate surveys to map out the terrain, monitor excavation progress, and calculate stockpile volumes. In this case, we used the Trimble GPS coordinates to transform the data collected with the TS16 into the correct reference system, ensuring seamless integration between the two. The TS16’s long-distance tracking was essential for efficiently covering the large open quarry, and the GPS provided the necessary control to ensure the accuracy of the survey. This combination of technologies allowed us to deliver precise and reliable survey data for the client, aiding in quarry management and future planning.
